About The Wine

Mitchelton The Bend Shiraz 2021 is a smooth, generous Victorian red with classic dark fruit richness and a savoury, spicy edge. It is the kind of Shiraz that delivers plenty of flavour without feeling overdone; ripe, rounded and approachable, with enough structure to keep it balanced.

Expect blackberry, plum, black pepper, liquorice and subtle oak, finishing with fine tannins and a warm, satisfying feel. A great value red from one of Victoria’s long standing wine names.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Dark berry fruit, ripe plum, blackberry, blackcurrant, liquorice, pepper and gentle oak spice.

Palate: Medium to full bodied and fruit driven, with black fruits, savoury spice, liquorice, soft oak and fine chalky tannins.

Finish: Smooth and warming, with lingering dark fruit, spice and a savoury dry finish.

Serving Suggestions

Serve just below room temperature. Enjoy with grilled steak, roast lamb, slow cooked beef, barbecue meats, mushroom dishes, rich tomato pasta, hard cheeses or winter casseroles.

About the Winery / Producer / Region

Mitchelton has been part of Victorian wine since 1969, building its reputation around the Nagambie estate on the banks of the Goulburn River. Today, Mitchelton works with fruit from its Nagambie vineyards, its Toolleen estate vineyard in Heathcote, and selected grower partners across Victoria’s wine regions.

The Bend range offers approachable Victorian wines with strong regional character and everyday appeal. Shiraz has long been an important variety for Mitchelton, with Central Victoria’s warm days, cooling influences and varied soils helping produce reds with ripe dark fruit, spice, savoury structure and smooth tannins.
