“Smooth Bavarian Dunkel with caramel malt, dark bread and a soft balanced finish.”

Camba Bavarian Dunkel is a classic dark lager with plenty of malt character, but without becoming heavy or overly sweet.

Caramel, toasted grain and dark bread lead the way, with soft roasted notes and a gentle herbal hop character underneath. The palate is smooth and rounded, with enough bitterness to keep the malt in balance and a soft, clean finish that makes it very easy to drink. Camba describes it as malty and slightly sweet, with fine caramel notes and a pleasantly soft finish.

This is a proper Bavarian Dunkel that gives you richer malt flavour without losing the refreshing character of a lager. It is a great option if you want something darker and more characterful than a Helles, but still smooth, balanced and easy to drink.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Caramel malt, dark bread, toasted grain and gentle roasted notes.

Palate: Smooth and medium bodied with soft malt sweetness, caramel and restrained herbal bitterness.

Finish: Clean and rounded with lingering dark malt, toast and a pleasantly soft finish.

About The Brewery

Camba Bavaria is based in Seeon in Bavaria and has built a strong reputation for combining traditional German brewing with a more modern craft approach.

The Dunkel is firmly rooted in classic Bavarian lager tradition. It is brewed with Pilsner, Munich and caramel malts, Tradition hops and Bavarian lager yeast. That combination gives the beer its darker colour, soft caramel character and smooth malt driven palate.

It is rich enough to feel satisfying, but still unmistakably a lager. In other words, darker and maltier without turning dinner into a full commitment.
