Saint & Scholar Sparkling Pinot Noir Chardonnay 2023 is bright, polished and beautifully easy to like, with the freshness of cool climate fruit and enough creamy texture to give it a little extra depth.

Made from 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay, it opens with strawberry, rose petal, citrus blossom and white peach. The palate brings lime, nectarine and ripe stone fruit, with a creamy middle and fine chalky acidity keeping everything lively. There is just a touch of sweetness through the finish, but the overall impression stays fresh and balanced.

This gives you a genuine Adelaide Hills traditional method sparkling at a very approachable price. It is elegant enough for a celebration, but relaxed enough that you do not need to wait for one.

About The Winery

Saint & Scholar is an Adelaide Hills producer based around Gumeracha, where the cool climate is particularly well suited to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

The fruit for this 2023 sparkling comes from the winery’s Gumeracha vineyard and is made using traditional techniques including whole bunch pressing, bottle fermentation and maturation on yeast lees. That gives the wine its fine bubbles, creamy texture and gentle savoury complexity while still keeping the fruit bright and fresh.

It is polished without becoming too serious, which is exactly where sparkling wine should sit. Good fruit, proper method, fine bubbles and very little need for ceremony.
