S.C. Pannell Grenache Shiraz Touriga 2023 is a vibrant McLaren Vale red that brings together fragrance, juicy fruit and plenty of savoury detail. Grenache gives the wine lift and fine sandy tannins, Shiraz adds red fruit, spice and weight, while Touriga Nacional contributes darker plum fruit, dried spice and florals. The result is generous and expressive without feeling heavy.

Expect raspberry, pomegranate, red plum and darker berry fruit alongside lavender, lilac, liquorice, musk and dried spice. The palate is plush and seamless, with mouth filling fruit, violet notes and fine tannins that gently shape the finish. It is medium bodied, polished and very easy to enjoy now.

Aroma: Lavender, lilac, liquorice, raspberry, pomegranate, red plum and dried spice.

Palate: Medium bodied and generous with juicy red and dark fruit, violet, musk, gentle spice and a smooth flowing texture.

Finish: Long and savoury with lingering florals, red fruit, spice and fine persistent tannins.

S.C. Pannell is one of McLaren Vale's most respected producers, led by winemaker Stephen Pannell. The estate is known for wines that reflect the warm Mediterranean climate of South Australia while retaining freshness, balance and a strong sense of place.

Grenache has become one of the defining varieties of modern McLaren Vale, and S.C. Pannell has played an important role in its resurgence. The Grenache Shiraz Touriga blend shows another side of the region, combining varieties particularly well suited to the South Australian climate to create a red with depth, fragrance and excellent drinkability.

Cellaring Potential

S.C. Pannell Grenache Shiraz Touriga 2023 is ready to drink now, but we suggest it can comfortably develop for up to 10 years in a cool cellar. Drink now to around 2033 under good storage conditions.
