Artuke Rioja Tempranillo 2025 750ml

“Juicy Rioja Tempranillo with cherry, blueberry, violets and soft velvety tannins.”

Artuke Rioja Tempranillo 2025 is bright, youthful and absolutely packed with fruit, showing a much fresher side of Rioja than the classic oak driven styles many people expect.

Made from 95% Tempranillo and 5% Viura, it opens with sour cherry, blueberry and ripe red fruit, followed by violet, heather and a subtle sweet spice character. The palate is juicy and energetic, with soft tannins, lively acidity and a fresh, rounded finish.

This is a terrific choice if you like Rioja but want something brighter and less serious. It has loads of fruit, very little tannic grip and works beautifully with a slight chill, making it especially good when the weather starts warming up.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Sour cherry, blueberry, violet, heather and fresh red berries.

Palate: Juicy and medium bodied with ripe cherry, red fruit, soft tannins and bright acidity.

Finish: Fresh, rounded and easy drinking with lingering cherry, floral notes and gentle savoury spice.

Serving Suggestions

This is a great match with charcuterie, lamb, grilled pork, roast chicken, tapas and simple tomato based dishes.

It also works particularly well slightly chilled, which makes it a very handy red for warmer days or relaxed grazing plates.

About The Winery

Artuke is a small family estate in Rioja Alavesa, founded in 1991 and now run by brothers Arturo and Kike de Miguel, whose names inspired the Artuke name.

The family works with vineyards around Baños de Ebro, Ábalos and Samaniego and has become one of the better known names in Rioja’s newer generation of producers. Their wines tend to focus on freshness, fruit and regional character rather than simply relying on long oak ageing.

The 2025 Artuke is the youthful end of the range and a very good introduction to the house style. Lots of fruit, plenty of energy and none of the heaviness people sometimes associate with Rioja.

Cellaring Potential

Artuke Rioja Tempranillo 2025 is made to be enjoyed young while the fruit is at its brightest.

Recommended drinking window: 2026 to 2028.
