Wantirna Estate Lily Pinot Noir 2023 is an exquisite expression of old-vine Yarra Valley fruit, crafted by Maryann and Reg Egan with a focus on elegance, perfume, and texture. Named after Reg’s granddaughter, this wine reflects both heritage and finesse — a beautifully detailed Pinot Noir that captures the balance between fragrance, delicacy, and structure that defines great cool-climate reds.
Halliday Wine Companion - 96 Points
A deep and brightly coloured crimson purple. Both to look at and smell, this is a concentrated and complex Wantirna pinot that's going to need some time. Aromas of black cherry, damson plum and dried red rose petals lead onto the palate, which is densely packed, structured and very long. Have it with food now, for sure, but those who still have some five to ten years from now will be very well rewarded. Philip Rich

About the Winery
Wantirna Estate, established in 1963, is one of the Yarra Valley’s oldest and most respected family-owned vineyards. Founded by Reg and Maryann Egan, the estate was among the first to plant Pinot Noir in the region. Today, winemaker Maryann Egan continues the family’s legacy with a meticulous approach to small batch, hand crafted wines that embody site expression and subtlety. The Lily Pinot Noir represents the epitome of their philosophy, refined, complex, and deeply rooted in tradition.
Cellaring Potential
Beautifully drinkable now, but will reward patience, cellar confidently until 2036 for evolved savoury and truffle complexity.
