Lightfoot Myrtle Point Vineyard Chardonnay 2024 is a beautifully modern Gippsland Chardonnay with bright fruit, fine texture and just enough richness to keep things interesting.

White peach, nectarine and lemon lead the way, with lemon curd, fresh almond, light toast and a subtle saline edge underneath. The palate is medium bodied and polished, with fresh acidity giving the wine excellent shape and a long, clean finish.

This is a terrific choice if you like Chardonnay with flavour and texture, but do not want it buried under oak. It has enough generosity to feel satisfying, while the citrus and mineral freshness keep everything lively.

Lightfoot Wines is a family owned producer in East Gippsland, with the Myrtle Point Vineyard overlooking the Gippsland Lakes. The vineyard is managed by the second generation of the Lightfoot family, with a strong focus on Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Shiraz.

The 2024 Myrtle Point Vineyard Chardonnay is a fresh, contemporary expression of the region, showing citrus, white peach and melon with enough texture and savoury detail to give the wine real depth.

It is polished without feeling overworked, which is usually where good Chardonnay starts getting interesting.
