Craiglee Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 is a refined expression of Sunbury terroir. Grown and produced entirely on-site at Craiglee Vineyard in Victoria’s historic Sunbury region, this Cabernet reflects the benefits of mature plantings and cool nighttime conditions. The 2020 vintage opens with a deep red-black hue and aromas of spicy blackcurrant, mulberry, tobacco, cedar, and earthy herb tones. On the palate, expect juicy redcurrant and cherry flavors layered over delicate vanilla and cedar, with a subtle herbal backdrop and refined oak echo. Fine grained tannins and bright acidity give structure, leading to a polished mid-length finish. A balanced, food friendly style, great with red meats, rich pastas, aged cheeses, or hearty vegetarian dishes.

It’s ripe yet somewhat sinewy with tart fruit, but still comes out super savoury. It’s an unusual cabernet – as in not overtly varietal – just a hint of cassis with crushed herbs, alongside cedary oak, pomegranate and sumac.
