Wild Duck Creek Harlequin Picpoul Blanc is a new varietal to the Heathcote wine region, however its been grown successfully since the 17th century in southern France. It's a fabulous variety for consumptions during the warmer months due to its refreshingly high natural acidity. A perfect partner with seafood and especially oysters. The grapes for this wine were grown by missy and High Jones of the Humis vineyard int he Nort of the region. It was fermented in both seasoned French oak puncheons and stainless steel tank and let on yeast lees for 4 months prior to bottling. - Wild Duck Creek

Picpoul translates as "sting the lip", a reference to its mouth-watering acidity. Acidity is a refreshing signature feature of Harlequin, together with a brightness of nectarine, peach skin, lemon and apple. Succulent in texture with a saline, oyster shell core, it gets the tastebuds working and the mind imagining a pairing with oysters. Perfect!
