West Cape Howe Riesling 2026 is exactly the sort of Riesling that makes Mount Barker such a great region for the variety. It is bright, fresh and beautifully crisp, with plenty of citrus flavour and a lovely mineral edge. Easy to enjoy now, but with enough character and acidity to make it much more than just a simple refreshing white.

Sweet lime and lemon lead the way, with grapefruit, delicate florals and a touch of orange blossom adding freshness and lift. The palate is dry and light on its feet, with zippy natural acidity, lemon sherbet and a fine mineral line carrying everything through to a clean, refreshing finish.

Aroma: Sweet lime, lemon zest, orange blossom, delicate florals and a subtle mineral note.

Palate: Crisp and dry with lime, lemon sherbet and grapefruit, balanced by bright acidity and fine mineral freshness.

West Cape Howe Wines is based in Mount Barker in Western Australia's Great Southern region. From its home among some of the region's oldest vineyards, the winery focuses on wines with flavour, balance and structure that are made to be genuinely enjoyable to drink.

Mount Barker has built a particularly strong reputation for Riesling. The cool climate helps produce wines with bright citrus fruit, lively acidity and excellent length, and this 2026 release fits that style beautifully.

Cellaring Potential

West Cape Howe Riesling 2026 is lovely to drink young while the citrus fruit and freshness are at their brightest. Its natural acidity should also allow it to develop nicely over the next five to seven years, with more complex citrus and savoury characters emerging with time.
