Vecchia Romagna has a long Italian brandy history dating back to 1820, when Jean Bouton, from a French distilling family, established his distillery in Bologna. Over time, the name became closely linked with Italian brandy, combining French distilling tradition with Italian grape varieties and regional character.

The brand is especially known for using Trebbiano, a white grape widely grown in Italy and also highly valued in brandy production because of its natural acidity. Vecchia Romagna Etichetta Nera is made in a traditional style, with distillation and oak ageing helping build its smooth texture, amber colour and signature notes of vanilla, dried fruit and spice.
