“Light Bavarian wheat beer with fruity yeast, soft wheat and a crisp refreshing finish.”

Riegele Leichte Weisse Naturtrüb & Schlank is a lighter take on the classic Bavarian wheat beer style, with less alcohol and fewer calories but still plenty of flavour.

Fresh wheat and soft fruity yeast lead the way, with gentle banana, light citrus and a little spice underneath. The palate is leaner than a standard Hefeweizen, but still nicely rounded, with lively carbonation keeping everything bright and refreshing. Riegele describes it as light yet surprisingly full flavoured.

Riegele gives you proper Bavarian wheat beer character at just 2.9% ABV. It is a great option when you want something fresh, naturally cloudy and full of flavour without the extra weight of a standard strength Weissbier.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Fruity yeast, fresh wheat, soft banana and gentle citrus.

Palate: Light bodied and refreshing with wheat, mild fruit, soft spice and lively carbonation.

Finish: Clean and crisp with gentle yeast character and a light fruity edge.

About The Brewery

Brauhaus Riegele is based in Augsburg, Bavaria, and traces its brewing history back to 1386, making it one of Germany’s long established traditional breweries. The range covers classic Bavarian styles from Helles and Dunkel through to wheat beers and stronger seasonal releases.

Leichte Weisse sits at the lighter end of that lineup. It is top fermented, unfiltered and naturally cloudy, using barley malt, wheat malt, hops and yeast. Riegele positions it as a wheat beer with less alcohol and fewer calories, but still with full fruity flavour and character.

It is basically Weissbier on a lighter setting. Same Bavarian idea, just a little easier on the afternoon.
