Max Ferdinand Richter Estate Riesling 2024 is a lovely Mosel Riesling with that combination of freshness, fruit and slatey minerality the region does so well.

Lime peel, pear and white peach lead the way, with citrus zest, elderflower and cool herbal notes underneath. There is a touch of residual sweetness, but the acidity is so bright and clean that the wine still finishes dry to off dry rather than sweet.

This wine gives you a proper Mosel Riesling from one of the region’s historic estates without having to climb straight into the more serious single vineyard prices. It is light, mineral, refreshing and still has enough fruit to make it very easy to enjoy.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Lime peel, pear, green apple, white peach, elderflower and citrus zest.

Palate: Light and lively with lime, pear, orchard fruit and a gentle touch of sweetness balanced by crisp acidity.

Finish: Long and refreshing with slate, citrus, river stone and a clean mineral edge.

About The Winery

Max Ferdinand Richter is one of the historic estates of the Mosel, with family roots stretching back centuries. The estate is based in Mülheim and works with some of the region’s best known vineyard sites, producing Rieslings that focus on purity, freshness and the distinctive slate mineral character of the Mosel.

The Estate Riesling is made from younger vines in sites including Wehlener Sonnenuhr and Graacher Himmelreich. It is designed as an approachable introduction to the Richter style, with plenty of citrus and orchard fruit, bright acidity and that unmistakable Mosel mineral feel.

Max Ferdinand Richter Estate Riesling 2024 is drinking beautifully now, but the acidity and mineral structure give it enough shape to develop further. Drink now or over the next five to six years under good storage conditions.
