Plantation Original Dark Rum - a double-aged masterpiece from Maison Ferrand that marries Caribbean depth with French finesse. First matured in heavily charred American oak barrels under tropical sun, this bold rum then travels to France for a second round of aging in medium toasted French oak casks. The final blend includes a touch of aged Jamaican high-ester rum and undergoes an additional marriage period in wooden vats resulting in a complex, award-winning spirit that’s perfect both for sipping and mixing.

Tasting Notes

On the nose, expect pungent, toasty oak layered with rich nuances of dark fruit—black cherry, raisin, and prune plus warm baking spices like cinnamon, clove, and vanilla. Hints of coconut husk and subtle pineapple funk weave in complexity.

The palate offers burnt demerara sugar, dark chocolate, maple, and black tea, balanced by an oily mouthfeel and rounded tannins. A long, spiced crème-brûlée finish leaves a warming trail of cayenne spark and lingering fruit.
