The fruit comes from vineyards across Mount Gambier, Coonawarra and Wrattonbully on South Australia’s Limestone Coast. Volcanic soils, limestone and basalt help give the wine its fresh acidity, mineral character and generous fruit.

The cool and settled 2025 growing season allowed the Chardonnay grapes to ripen slowly and evenly. Patrick Sullivan uses a careful approach in the winery to build texture and subtle oak complexity while keeping the bright fruit and regional character clear and expressive.

About Patrick Sullivan And The Limestone Coast

Patrick Sullivan is one of Australia’s most exciting Chardonnay focused winemakers. Since releasing his first vintage in 2013, he has developed a strong following for wines that combine individuality, freshness and a clear connection to vineyard and soil.

Although Patrick is based in Gippsland, his search for expressive Chardonnay has taken him to volcanic vineyard sites across southern Australia. His hands on approach and deep interest in vineyard character have helped establish his reputation for modern Australian Chardonnay with precision, texture and personality.

The Limestone Coast is one of Australia’s most geologically fascinating wine regions. Its landscape includes limestone, basalt and ancient volcanic soils, with approximately 400 dormant volcanoes spread across the wider area. Cool growing conditions help Chardonnay retain natural acidity while developing ripe citrus and stone fruit flavours.

Cellaring Potential

Delicious now for its fresh citrus, white peach and gentle toasted character. It may also be cellared for three to five years, allowing the fruit, texture and subtle oak to become softer and more integrated.
