Pandolfa Federico Sangiovese Superiore 750ml

An estate full of history, whose origins find their source in tales of knights, intrigues and wars. It owes its name to a daring military leader, Sigismondo Pandolfo Malatesta in the mid-1400s. The property was then taken over by Commander Giuseppe Ricci in 1941, an entrepreneur from Forli, still in the Romagna region.
The history of the estate owes much to the commander's daughter, Noelia Ricci, who in 1980 first thought of Pandolfa as a wine business and built its beautiful winery.
The estate covers 140 hectares, 40 of which are dedicated to the production of Sangiovese. 

The vines are on hills at 100 msl, on clayey-calcareous soils, brown in colour, with a lot of sediment. The vineyard is about 18 years old, raised in “Cordone Speronato” according to the method of integrated and sustainable agriculture. The Vinification: The harvest begins in the second week of September. After a rigorous selection, the grapes are vinified in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature for 14 days, in contact with the skins. After the malolactic, 70% of the wine spends 12 months in stainless steel vats on its yeasts and the remaining 30% rests in Slavonian oak barrels. Then, aging in bottle for at least 3 months.

Fresh red wine with notes of lively fruit. This wine from Sangiovese brings us a beautiful liveliness. In the mouth it remains whole. The taste brings a slight impression of vanilla wood. The mouth is long but remains very fresh.
