Montalto Estate Pinot Noir 2024 is an elegant Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir with cherry, raspberry, savoury spice and beautifully structured tannins. Bright and fresh with plenty of depth, this is a polished cool climate Pinot that balances vibrant fruit with earthy, savoury complexity.

Dark cherry and plum lead the aroma, joined by sarsaparilla, bramble, crushed sage, star anise and subtle baking spice. The palate turns towards brighter red cherry and raspberry, with fresh acidity and fine chalky tannins carrying everything through to a long, savoury finish with hints of blood orange.

Aroma: Dark cherry and plum with bramble, crushed sage, sarsaparilla, star anise and subtle spice.

Palate: Bright red cherry and raspberry with savoury complexity, fresh acidity and fine chalky tannins.

Finish: Long and savoury with lingering red fruit, spice and a distinctive touch of blood orange.

About Montalto

Established in 1997, Montalto is one of the Mornington Peninsula's recognised premium wine producers. Its home estate at Red Hill South includes 30 acres under vine, while fruit is sourced from five vineyards across the Peninsula's cool coastal landscape.

Led by winemaker Simon Black, the winemaking team focuses on producing wines that reflect the individual character of their vineyard sites. Pinot Noir is one of Montalto's signature varieties, with the Estate release representing a benchmark expression of Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir.

At first, this comes across as pretty, tangy and juicy, enticing with its heady aromas and flavours. But there’s detail and structure, too. In the mix, rose petals, red and black cherries with exotic spices almost an Indian combo of cardamon and turmeric. The palate is layered with superfine tannins and matching acidity.
