About The Winery

Château Mont Redon is one of the historic names of the southern Rhône, with vineyard history reaching back to the papal era of Avignon. The Mont Redon site was linked to vines as early as 1344, and the name comes from Montem Rotundum, meaning round mountain, inspired by the shape of the local landscape.

The modern estate story took a major step forward in 1923, when Henri Plantin purchased the property after the phylloxera crisis and began rebuilding the vineyards. Over the following generations, the family expanded the estate and built Château Mont Redon into one of the most respected producers of the southern Rhône.

The Cotes du Rhone vineyards are planted around Orange and Roquemaure, on stony limestone and clay soils that help bring warmth, ripeness and structure to the wines. Grenache brings ripe red fruit and softness, Syrah adds colour, spice and depth, while Mourvèdre and Carignan contribute savoury structure and regional character.

This is a classic Mont Redon expression: generous, polished and full of southern Rhône charm.
