About The Wine

Longview Macclesfield Grüner Veltliner 2025 is a vibrant, finely detailed white that shows just how well Grüner suits the Adelaide Hills. Estate grown in Macclesfield, it is light on its feet but full of character, with bright citrus, orchard fruit and classic peppery lift carried by crisp natural acidity and a clean mineral line. The 2025 vintage follows one of the driest growing seasons in many years, resulting in an early, fast harvest and a wine with freshness, tension and lovely varietal clarity.

This has verve and pluck. It nips and tucks across the palate, tonic water and dill pickle with radish and green apple chiming in. Distinctly varietal in that regard. Ultra refreshing, just the right dose of edge and crunch to texture, a good drive of flavour and persistence in tandem. Aroma: Citrus peel, green pear, crushed white pepper, fennel and fresh herbs.

Palate: Taut and textural, with nashi pear, lime, lemon peel and a chalky mineral edge.

Finish: Dry and long, with bright acidity and that signature peppery twist through the close.

Serving Suggestions

Serve well chilled with grilled prawns, white fish, schnitzel, asparagus dishes or lighter pork dishes. It also works beautifully as an aperitif thanks to its freshness and peppery lift.
