Lethbridge Pinot Gris 2025 is what happens when Pinot Gris is taken seriously, but thankfully not so seriously that you need to discuss it in hushed tones.

This is not the watery, vaguely pear flavoured Pinot Gris that turns up at large family lunches because somebody found it on special. Lethbridge makes theirs in a richer, more Alsatian style, with pear, white peach, citrus, honey and spice, plus enough texture through the palate to make you sit up and pay attention.

Halliday Wine Companion - 96 Points

There is real fruit here, but the acidity keeps everything beautifully fresh. A little skin contact adds grip, while fermentation and maturation across stainless steel, oak and amphora give the wine plenty of shape without turning it into a winemaking science project. Philip Rich awarded the 2025 95 points for Halliday Wine Companion, while James Suckling gave it 93 points.

Aroma: Pear, white peach, nectarine, citrus peel, honey and gentle spice.

Palate: Ripe and textural with pear, melon and stone fruit, balanced by bright acidity and a subtle grip.

Finish: Long and fresh with lingering citrus, pear, spice and a clean savoury edge.

About The Winery

Lethbridge Wines was founded by Ray Nadeson and Maree Collis, who were both medical researchers before deciding that growing grapes in Geelong sounded like a more sensible career choice.

The winery has since become one of the region’s most respected producers, with a strong focus on site, texture and wines that actually taste like they came from somewhere.

Fruit for the 2025 Pinot Gris comes from vineyards in Geelong and Henty, with the cooler Henty component bringing freshness and the Geelong fruit adding perfume and generosity. Some parcels see a little skin contact, while the wine is matured in foudre and larger oak, giving it considerably more personality than your average bottle of Pinot Gris.

Cellaring Potential

Lethbridge Pinot Gris 2025 is excellent now, particularly if you enjoy its combination of ripe fruit and bright acidity. Philip Rich recommends drinking it over the next two to three years, although a little bottle age should only make the texture more interesting.
