Leconfield is situated in the heart of Coonawarra, one of Australia’s most famous Cabernet Sauvignon regions. The area is known for its Terra Rossa soils over limestone, which help produce Cabernet with deep colour, cassis fruit, fine tannins, freshness and excellent ageing potential.

The estate was founded in 1974 by pioneering winemaker Sydney Hamilton, who set out to produce classic Australian red wine from Coonawarra. He was 76 years old at the time, showing remarkable vision and ambition. His belief in Coonawarra Cabernet has been well proven, with Leconfield becoming one of the region’s trusted names for elegant, cellar worthy reds.

Leconfield Cabernet Sauvignon has been the estate’s flagship wine since the first release in 1977.
