La Bacca Nerello Mascalese 2024 is a vibrant, fruit forward take on Sicily’s most exciting red grape. Sourced from western Sicily and largely vinified in stainless steel to lock in freshness, it’s bright, lifted and ridiculously easy to drink more about crunchy red fruit and energy than heavy structure.
Tasting Notes
Aroma: Bright red currant and cherry with a hint of red berry perfume.
Palate: Soft, juicy and ripe, plum, red berry and cherry flavours with gentle tannins.
Finish: Fresh and clean with lively acidity and a smooth, easy glide.
Food Pairing / Serving Suggestions
Perfect with antipasto, pizza, tomato based pasta, prosciutto-wrapped pork, or sausages, anything savoury that loves bright red fruit and gentle tannin.
About the Winery / Producer / Region
La Bacca is made with fruit from a long standing grower partner in western Sicily, showcasing Nerello Mascalese in a lighter, juicier style than many of the more structured mountain grown versions. The wine is primarily stainless steel fermented, with maturation noted as mostly stainless steel and up to 25% in older French oak for around 6 months to add subtle shape without losing freshness.
