Kilikanoon Mort’s Block Watervale Riesling 2024 is a beautifully focused single vineyard Riesling from Watervale in the Clare Valley. Crisp, fine and full of energy, it shows the purity and drive that make this subregion one of Australia’s great homes for Riesling.

The 2024 vintage delivers concentrated lemon and lime, with classic chalky aromas, ripe nectarine, mandarin pith, jasmine and talc. A bright natural acidity carries the wine through a long, clean and refreshing finish.

About The Winery

Kilikanoon is one of Clare Valley’s most respected wineries, founded in 1997 by Kevin Mitchell. The winery quickly built a reputation for expressive regional wines with depth, precision and strong vineyard identity.

Mort’s Block is one of the key wines in the Kilikanoon range and has been part of the story since the winery’s first year of production. The vineyard was planted in 1973 by Mort Mitchell, father of founding winemaker Kevin Mitchell, and the wine is made as a tribute to Mort’s work and dedication to the land.

Watervale is one of the Clare Valley’s most famous Riesling areas. Its altitude, cool nights, Terra Rossa soils and long ripening season help produce wines with intense citrus fruit, floral lift, natural acidity and excellent ageing potential. Mort’s Block captures that classic Watervale character with clarity, length and bright mineral freshness.

Kilikanoon Mort’s Block Riesling 2024 is delicious now for its citrus intensity and crisp acidity, but it is also built to age. Drink now to 2038 under good storage conditions. With time, expect the lemon and lime notes to develop into toast, honey, citrus oil and gentle spice.
