About The Winery

Joseph Cattin is a historic Alsace wine family with roots in the village of Vœgtlinshoffen, near Colmar. The family settled in Alsace in the seventeenth century, and François Cattin began working with vines in 1720. Over generations, the family built a strong reputation for Alsace wines and Crémant d’Alsace, with the Joseph Cattin name becoming closely linked to sparkling wine from the region.

Alsace sits in eastern France, close to the German border, and is known for aromatic white wines, fresh acidity and expressive vineyard character. The region benefits from the shelter of the Vosges Mountains, giving it one of the driest climates in France and helping grapes ripen with purity and freshness.

Crémant d’Alsace is made using the traditional method, the same broad sparkling wine method used for Champagne, but with Alsace grape varieties and regional character. Pinot Blanc is especially well suited to this style, giving soft orchard fruit, delicate florals, fine bubbles and a crisp dry finish.
