Jasper Hill Georgia’s Paddock Shiraz 2024 is a benchmark Heathcote Shiraz from one of Victoria’s most respected family estates. Grown from low yielding estate vines planted in Georgia’s Paddock, this wine is powerful, deeply fruited and unmistakably regional, with dark berry fruit, red earth, spice and natural structure at its core.

The 2024 release continues the classic Georgia’s Paddock style, combining intensity with balance and freshness. It is a serious, cellar worthy Shiraz, but one that also offers generous fruit and immediate presence with a good decant.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Dark plum, raspberry, blackberry, red earth, liquorice, spice and subtle savoury oak.

Palate: Full bodied and concentrated, with ripe dark fruit, red berry lift, earthy mineral detail and fine natural acidity.

Finish: Long, structured and persistent, with integrated tannins, spice, dark fruit and classic Heathcote depth.

Here is a first-rate lesson on soils and what they contribute to wine. Georgia hails from red, iron oxide rich, ancient Cambrian soils that have brought the most astonishing natural balance in '24. The boldness we associate with Georgia is there, but so too a well delivered fineness of expression that seems to belie the 15.5% abv. The fruit is black and ripe, the spices soar, the oak is well integrated and a ferrous minerality adds a brightness and spark to everything. Layers of black and blue fruits intertwine with a mineral-edged undertone, showing aromas of graphite, ferric earth, spices, violets, blackberries and licorice. The palate is seamlessly integrated, with a fine backbone of acidity and almost silken tannins. About the Winery / Producer / Region

Jasper Hill is one of Heathcote’s landmark producers, established by Ron and Elva Laughton in the 1970s. The estate has become a defining name for premium Victorian Shiraz, with Georgia’s Paddock standing as its most recognised vineyard and one of the great single site Shiraz wines of Australia.

The original Georgia’s Paddock Shiraz block was planted in 1975, with further plantings added in 1987. The vineyard is dry-grown and farmed with a strong focus on soil health, low yields and natural expression. Heathcote’s ancient Cambrian soils and warm days give Shiraz remarkable depth, colour and structure, while cool nights help preserve freshness and balance.
