Kennedy Henrietta Shiraz 2022 is a bright, elegant Heathcote Shiraz with lovely purity of fruit and a smooth, polished feel. Sourced from the Kennedy Vineyard in Central Victoria, it shows a more refined side of Heathcote, with red cherry, raspberry, plum, violet, pepper and gentle spice.

The grapes were picked in March 2022, wild fermented in open top vessels with gentle plunging, then matured in old French oak and large format concrete. This gives the wine freshness, texture and a clean fruit focus without heavy oak influence. The wine is listed at 14% ABV.

Aroma: Cherry, raspberry, plum, violet, pepper, red fruits and gentle baking spice.

Palate: Elegant and fresh with red cherry, plum, raspberry, fine acidity, soft spice and smooth tannins.

Finish: Pure and balanced with lingering red fruit, pepper, spice and a fine savoury edge.

About The Winery

Kennedy Vintners is based in Heathcote, one of Victoria’s most respected Shiraz regions. The Kennedy Vineyard sits along the east facing slope of the Mount Camel Range, an area known for its ancient Cambrian soils and strong red wine pedigree. These soils, often linked with Greenstone, are prized in Heathcote for their drainage, mineral character and ability to support concentrated, balanced Shiraz.

The vineyard story began in the early 2000s, with 10 hectares of Shiraz planted in 2002, followed by another 10 hectares in 2003. Further plantings of Shiraz, Tempranillo and Mataro followed in 2007, giving the estate a strong focus on varieties well suited to Heathcote’s warm days, cooler nights and structured red wine style.

Henrietta Shiraz shows the softer, more elegant side of the region. Rather than chasing heavy extraction, the winemaking keeps the focus on fruit purity, freshness and fine tannin shape. The result is a deliciously approachable Heathcote Shiraz with enough structure for the table and enough balance for short term cellaring.
