This is a style of Riesling which is very popular in Germany, where is it is known as Halbtrocken (Half Dry). It is a particularly good accompaniment to spicy dishes as the slight sweetness in the wine balances the spice and heat. This is the 17th vintage of this very popular style, and each year we fine tune balance between flavour, acid and sweetness. Released under the distinctive red coloured label.
The Wine: Bright, light green colour, lime and lemon citrus aromas, the palate juicy, soft and fruity. A very smart halbtrocken style of Riesling, one of the best Helm have produced.
Pair with spicy Thai, Chinese or Indian flavours where the sweetness of the wine balances out the heat.
Cellaring: The balance of acid and sugar in this wine means it is perfect to drink and enjoy now. If kept for longer than two years the wine will start to develop sweeter lime cordial flavours.

Fruit from Tumbarumba with a neat balance of sweetness to the vibrant acidity. Drinking so well now with its lemon blossom, sweetened grapefruit juice and lemon barley water.
