Greenock Creek Shiraz 2021 750ml is a powerful Barossa Shiraz with dark plum, liquorice, mocha and silky tannins. Rich, generous and packed with flavour, this is classic Barossa drinking with plenty of concentration, but enough freshness and structure to keep everything beautifully balanced. The 2021 vintage was considered one of the strongest in recent memory at Greenock Creek.

Dark plum, blackberry and black cherry lead the way, followed by liquorice, mocha, fennel and warm spice. The palate is plush and full bodied, with velvety tannins and a long, satisfying finish. It is a seriously impressive Shiraz for those who enjoy bold Barossa reds with richness and polish.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Dark plum, blackberry, black cherry and liquorice with warm spice, mocha and fennel.

Palate: Full bodied and richly textured with ripe black cherry, plum and blackberry, layered with liquorice, mocha and subtle earthy spice.

Finish: Long, plush and powerful with smooth tannins, lingering dark fruit and warm spice.

Greenock Creek was established in 1984 and has built a strong reputation for expressive Barossa Valley reds with depth, concentration and a clear sense of place. Based on the western edge of the Barossa, the producer is particularly well known for Shiraz and for showcasing the distinctive personalities of its vineyards and subregions.

The 2021 Barossa Valley Shiraz captures that classic Greenock Creek character in an approachable style, combining ripe dark fruit, richness and silky tannins with the structure to develop further in the bottle.

Cellaring Potential

Drinking beautifully now for its rich fruit and plush texture, or cellar for several more years as the wine develops deeper savoury and earthy complexity. We recommend around 8 to 10 years of cellaring from release.
