The vineyard was planted in 2010 to cuttings from Alices, Apricot, Seven Acre and Roennfeldt Road. The soils are heavy loam mixed with red clay. The heaviness of the clay slows down ripening so we can let the fruit hang on the vine longer than the other Shiraz blocks. This gives the wine an enjoyable density that marries with the silky tannins and rich fruit profile of blackcurrants and cherries that the loam provides.
This wine used to see 100% American oak but we find the focus has been sharpened by a move to seasoned French oak with just 10% new American oak in the mix.
The nose gives a cool, spicy impression with a herbal tinge over red cherries and darker fruits. The palate is relatively cool and sleek with good definition. It’s medium-bodied and straight through the mouth with some tighter blue fruit and blackcurrant framed by silky but strong, spicy currant-like tannins. - Greenock Creek Vineyards

Local deliveries are delivered directly by our store. Delivery is usually the same day if order is placed before 11am. Orders placed after 11am will be next day delivery. We do not deliver on Sundays. Orders of only Beer/Cider, Mixers and/or soft drink including slabs will attract a delivery fee and can only be ordered under local deliveries or Click & Collect.
