2022 Glaetzer-Dixon Reveur Pinot Noir Tasmania – Winemaker Nick Glaetzer has transformed an old ice factory on the edge of Hobart’s CBD into Tasmania’s first urban winery and tasting room. A fifth generation vigneron hailing from the Barossa Valley, Nick moved to Tasmania in 2005. With Glaetzer-Dixon he has won the Jimmy Watson Memorial Trophy and Gourmet Traveller’s Young Winemaker of the Year award.

Dark, lifted aromas of plums, old-school maraschino cherries and mixed spices. These characters intensify on the supple and fleshy palate, firmed by velvet tannins and a fine, balanced finish.

An excellent example of what Tasmanian Pinot Noirs are all about.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Lifted notes of plums, maraschino cherries, and mixed spices.

Palate: Supple and fleshy, with dark fruit characters intensifying on the palate.

Finish: Firmed by velvet tannins, leading to a fine, balanced finish.

Grape Variety: 100% Pinot Noir.

Region: Coal River Valley, Tasmania.

Vineyard Practices: Sourced from two exceptional vineyards with yields of 3–5 tonnes per hectare.

Fermentation: 55% whole-bunch, cold maceration prior to wild fermentation.

Maturation: Aged in French oak for 22 months and bottled unfiltered.

This Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with dishes such as duck, turkey, soft cheeses, and mushroom risotto, enhancing the dining experience with its complex flavors.
