About The Cachaca

Germana Cachaça Caetano’s Umburana Wood Cask 40% is a distinctive Brazilian cachaça with a rounded, lightly sweet profile and plenty of traditional character. Made from fresh sugarcane juice, this is a more expressive style of cachaça, aged for two years in umburana wood casks to build colour, texture and flavour.

Umburana is one of Brazil’s traditional native woods used for ageing cachaça, giving the spirit a light golden colour, soft sweetness and fragrant spice. Smooth enough to sip chilled, but still lively enough for cocktails, this is a great bottle for those who want to explore cachaça beyond the classic Caipirinha.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Fresh sugarcane, ripe fruit, light cherry like sweetness, vanilla, spice and soft woody notes.

Palate: Rounded and lightly sweet, with sugarcane brightness, fruity depth, gentle spice and smooth umburana wood character.

Finish: Warming and balanced, with lingering fruit, soft spice, subtle sweetness and a clean cachaça lift.

Serving Suggestions

Serve neat and lightly chilled to enjoy its rounded cask-aged character. It also works beautifully in a red fruit Caipirinha or Caipifruta with strawberry, raspberry, lime and sugar, as well as in creamy batidas or tropical style cocktails.

About the Producer / Region

Germana is an artisanal Brazilian cachaça producer from Minas Gerais, one of Brazil’s most important regions for traditional cachaça production. The spirit is made from fresh, unrefined sugarcane juice, with the sugarcane cut by hand and processed quickly to preserve freshness and flavour.

Caetano’s Umburana Wood Cask reflects a more traditional, wood aged style of cachaça. The use of umburana casks gives the spirit its light yellow golden colour, rounded sweetness and distinctive fruit and spice profile, making it a great introduction to premium aged Brazilian cachaça.
