Structured, savoury, and Burgundian-influenced, Fighting Gully Road Pinot Noir from Beechworth delivers remarkable depth and elegance.
Crafted by viticultural legend Mark Walpole alongside winemaker Adrian Rodda, this Pinot Noir is notably more structured and tannic than many Australian examples reflecting a classic European approach. The 2023 vintage, made from clones 114 and MV6 with a whole-bunch component and carbonic maceration, was matured separately in 40% new and seasoned Italian-coated French oak puncheons for 12 months.

Aroma: Perfumed and silky, with notes of violet, red cherry, strawberry, rhubarb, dried herbs, forest floor, and spice

Palate: Medium-bodied and plush, flavours of red and dark cherry are framed by savoury earth, bramble, spicy oak, and fine-grained “cashmere” tannins, culminating in a long, supple finish

Structure: Young yet poised; tannic backbone and length allow for graceful ageing from 2025 to around 2030
