Elegant, textural, and finely detailed, Domaine Naturaliste Artus Chardonnay 2023 is a barrel-selected expression of Margaret River Chardonnay at its most refined. Pale gold in the glass, it opens with lifted aromas of white nectarine, lemon curd, and struck flint, alongside subtle notes of brioche, cashew, and spice. The palate is rich yet precise, offering layers of stone fruit, citrus, and savoury complexity, underpinned by beautifully integrated oak and a line of fresh acidity. A sophisticated, food-friendly Chardonnay with great depth and length.

While it always comes out as a bit of a powerhouse flavour-wise and in structure, this is backed up by fine acidity, driving this long. It also keeps the substantial flavours of savoury oak, creamed-honey lees and grapefruit in check. Some flinty, funky sulphides add an extra dimension of complexity as it continues to build on the palate.
