About The Brewery, History And Region

Delirium Tremens is brewed by Brouwerij Huyghe in Melle, East Flanders, one of Belgium’s great brewing regions. The brewery has roots going back to 1906 and has grown into one of the country’s most famous names, with the pink elephant now recognised well beyond Belgium. Delirium Tremens itself was first brewed in 1988 and quickly became the defining beer of the range.

Part of the beer’s identity comes from its use of three different yeasts, which help create its layered aroma, rounded palate and unmistakable Belgian character. The distinctive ceramic style bottle has also become part of its legend, giving it a look that stands out instantly on the shelf. For those interested in brewery heritage, regional identity and classic Belgian beer culture, Delirium Tremens is a benchmark bottle.
