Château L’Eglise Bordeaux 2024 is a classic, approachable Bordeaux red with plenty of ripe fruit and just enough structure to keep things interesting. Red berries and dark cherry lead the way, with cocoa and a little savoury depth coming through underneath. It is medium bodied, dry and nicely balanced, making it a very easy Bordeaux to enjoy now.

The blend is led by Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, with smaller amounts of Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Carménère. Six months in oak adds a little shape and polish without taking over the fruit, while the 2024 vintage brings good freshness and a firmer tannin line.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Red berries, dark cherry, subtle florals and gentle cocoa.

Palate: Medium bodied with ripe red fruit, chocolate notes, fresh acidity and firm but polished tannins.

Finish: Dry and structured with lingering red fruit, cocoa and a gentle savoury edge.

About The Winery

Château L’Eglise is a Bordeaux estate with a long history, having been owned by the Dieuxyssies family since 1880. The vineyards cover around 28 hectares and are planted on clay limestone and sandy loam soils to the traditional red varieties of Bordeaux.

The style here is classic and uncomplicated, with Merlot bringing softness and fruit, Cabernet Sauvignon adding structure, and the smaller blending varieties giving a little extra spice and depth. It is a great option if you want genuine Bordeaux character without stepping into the more serious price bracket.

Cellaring Potential

Château L’Eglise Bordeaux 2024 is ready to enjoy now, especially with a little air. It should continue to drink well through to around 2029 under good storage conditions.
