Brash Higgins Chn Chenin Blanc 2025 750ml

“Textural McLaren Vale Chenin Blanc with pear, quince, citrus and a fresh savoury finish.”

Brash Higgins CHN Chenin Blanc 2025 is a bright, characterful take on Chenin from McLaren Vale, with plenty of freshness but considerably more going on than simple citrus and acidity.

Pear, quince and fresh apple lead the way, with lemon, white flowers and subtle savoury notes adding detail. The palate is dry and textural, balancing juicy orchard fruit with bright acidity and a gently chalky feel through the finish.

This is a great choice if you enjoy Riesling, Fiano or more textural Chardonnay and feel like trying something different. It has freshness, but it also has enough shape and personality to keep things interesting beyond the first glass.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Fresh pear, quince and green apple with lemon and delicate white florals.

Palate: Dry and textural with orchard fruit, citrus and a subtle savoury character, balanced by lively acidity.

Finish: Fresh and persistent with lingering pear, lemon and a gentle chalky mineral edge.

Serving Suggestions

Excellent with oysters, grilled prawns, scallops, roast chicken and fresh seafood.

It also works beautifully with pork, creamy vegetable dishes and soft cheeses, where Chenin's combination of acidity and texture makes it particularly versatile.

About The Winery

Brash Higgins is the label of Brad Hickey, an American born writer and sommelier who swapped New York restaurants for winemaking in McLaren Vale.

The wines have developed a strong following for being adventurous without forgetting the fairly important requirement that they should also taste good. Chenin Blanc fits that philosophy nicely, particularly in McLaren Vale, where the variety can combine generous fruit with excellent natural freshness.

CHN is a good example of the Brash Higgins style. Interesting enough for wine people to talk about, but you certainly do not need to be one to enjoy it.

Cellaring Potential

Best enjoyed over the next few years while the pear, quince and citrus characters remain bright and energetic.

Chenin Blanc can develop beautifully with age, so well stored bottles should gain more honeyed, nutty and savoury complexity over time.
