About The Brewery And Region

Behemoth Brewing Company was founded in 2013 by Andrew Childs. The business began as a contract brewery, producing beer at several different breweries around New Zealand while building a following for bold flavours, playful names and memorable can artwork.

Following successful community funding campaigns, Behemoth established its own brewery and Churly’s Brewpub in Mount Eden, Auckland. The brewery has since become known for an adventurous range that includes classic lagers, expressive pale ales, powerful IPAs and creative speciality releases.

Nelsonian Rhapzody looks beyond Auckland to Nelson, one of the most important hop growing regions in the Southern Hemisphere. The sunny climate and fertile land around Nelson and Motueka support many of New Zealand’s most distinctive hop varieties, prized for their tropical fruit, citrus, white grape and vivid green aromatics.
