Bass River 1835 Pinot Noir 2023 is a refined, single-vintage release showcases handcrafted winemaking with a blend of tradition and modern finesse. A standout with roasted duck, grilled lamb cutlets, earthy mushroom dishes, and charcuterie. Perfect alongside rich poultry to highlight its cherry spice and herbal layers.

Tasting Notes

Colour: Semi-translucent ruby with a vibrant purple rim

Nose: Elegant aromas of spicy red cherry, rhubarb, forest floor, brambly cedar, and delicate dried clove.

Palate: Juicy red and dark cherries mingle with spicy rhubarb and crushed herbs, set on a supple, silky frame with polished tannins and refreshing savoury finish.

Winemaking & Vineyard

Grapes: Handpicked from Bass River’s premium vineyards

Fermentation: 15% whole-bunch carbonic fermentation plus cold-soaked destemmed fruit; 22–25 days on skins

Ageing: Aged for 10–11 months in French oak (10–15% new barrels), with gentle lees work

ABV: 13%
