Barco del Corneta Cucú Verdejo 2023 is a bright, expressive Spanish white that shows a much more interesting side of Verdejo.

Fresh green apple, pear and citrus lead the way, with wild herbs and a subtle mineral edge underneath. The palate has good texture and energy, but still finishes clean and lively, making it a great option for anyone who enjoys crisp whites but wants a little more personality in the glass.

This is a particularly good buy if you normally reach for Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio or Albariño. It has the freshness you are looking for, but with a little more savoury detail and texture.

Aroma: Green apple, pear, lemon zest and fresh wild herbs.

About The Winery

Barco del Corneta was founded by Beatriz Herranz in La Seca, Valladolid, with a focus on showing Verdejo in a more distinctive and site driven style. The project began on family land in 2007 and has developed a strong reputation for organic farming and expressive wines from Castilla y León.

Cucú is made from 100% Verdejo sourced from vineyards around La Seca and Segovia. The result is far removed from bland commercial Verdejo, with more freshness, texture and regional character.

In other words, this is Verdejo with something to say.

Best enjoyed now through around 2028 for its fresh citrus, orchard fruit and herbal character.
