Airlie Bank Pinot Noir 2025 is a cracking little Yarra Valley Pinot with loads of bright fruit and plenty of personality. Cherry, strawberry and raspberry come through straight away, with a little bramble and spice adding a savoury edge. It is light on its feet, juicy and very easy to enjoy.

There is enough structure here to keep it interesting, but this is really a Pinot made for drinking pleasure. The fruit is fresh and vibrant, the tannins are silky and there is a lovely crunchy feel through the palate. If you like Pinot that is bright, fragrant and not too serious, this is a great bottle to have on hand.

Aroma: Cherry, raspberry, strawberry, redcurrant, bramble and gentle spice.

Palate: Light to medium bodied with juicy red berries, bright freshness, savoury spice and silky fine tannins.

Finish: Fresh and lively with lingering cherry, raspberry, bramble and a gentle spicy edge.

Airlie Bank is the more playful range from Punt Road Wines in the Yarra Valley. Based in Coldstream, Punt Road has been producing wine from its Yarra Valley vineyards for decades, with Airlie Bank giving the winemaking team a little more freedom to experiment and make wines that are all about freshness, personality and drinkability.

The 2025 Pinot Noir fits that approach perfectly. It is classic Yarra Pinot at heart, with bright red fruit and fine tannins, but there is also a slightly wild, savoury edge that keeps it fun and interesting. For the price, it is a seriously good introduction to Yarra Valley Pinot Noir.
