About The Winery

Mr Mick Wines is based in Clare Valley, South Australia and is part of the Tim Adams Wines family. The label is named in honour of the late K H Knappstein, known as Mr Mick, a legendary Clare Valley winemaker and mentor to Tim Adams. Tim and Pam Adams purchased the historic site at 7 Dominic Street, Clare in late 2010 and brought new life to the property as a winery, cellar door, kitchen and gallery.

The Mr Mick range continues the philosophy of making approachable, well crafted wines that are enjoyable, interesting and great value. Alongside classic Clare Valley varieties, the range also explores alternative grapes such as Sangiovese, Fiano, Tempranillo and Malbec, giving the wines a fresh and modern feel while still staying grounded in Clare Valley character.

For this Sangiovese, fruit is sourced from the Rogers vineyard. The grapes are destemmed and fermented on skins for one week, with careful extraction to retain fruit expression, colour and fine tannin shape. The result is an elegant, fresh red with bright fruit, savoury detail and a smooth, easy drinking style.
