It’s refined and tightly framed, with dark fruit intensity and savoury complexity built to evolve beautifully over time.

Handpicked fruit was berry sorted before fermentation of 30 days on skins; 18 months in French oak (50% new). This is a glorious cabernet, its blackcurrant, cedar and spice bouquet leading into a seamless, perfectly balanced palate with cassis and redcurrant fruit framed by cedary oak. Founded in 1970 by David Hohnen (with brothers Mark and Giles), Cape Mentelle is one of Margaret River’s pioneering estates, with Cabernet Sauvignon at the heart of its identity especially from the Wallcliffe site planted in the early years.
