About the Winery

Founded in 2005, Catalina Sounds takes its name from the Catalina flying boats that once patrolled Marlborough’s skies during WWII, a tribute to exploration and craftsmanship. Winemaker Matt Ward crafts wines that balance vibrancy and texture, focusing on vineyard expression and sustainability. From its Waihopai and Wairau Valley vineyards, Catalina Sounds produces some of Marlborough’s most consistently acclaimed wines, known for their poise, purity, and understated sophistication.
