Glendalough Pot Still Irish Whiskey is a distinctive Irish whiskey that embodies the essence of its origin in the Wicklow Mountains. Known for its balance of classic pot still spices with the unique flavours imparted by the Irish oak cask finish, offering a rich and complex tasting experience. Using a traditional 1:2 mash bill of malted and unmalted Irish barley, it undergoes initial maturation in ex-bourbon barrels, followed by a finishing period of up to a year in virgin Irish oak casks made from sustainably felled 140 year old trees surrounding the Glendalough distillery. ABV 43%
Tasting Notes
Nose: Sweet and citrus aromas with hints of vanilla, caramel, banana, treacle, and earthy, herbal undertones of oak spices and leather.
Palate: Chewy, warm, and buttery texture featuring pot still malt and spices, toffeed pears, treacle, cinnamon, nutmeg, and distinctive toasted, tannic oak
Finish: Long and creamy with notes of vanilla, almond, forest fruit, and toasted Irish oak.
