Ijalba Tempranillo Rioja 2024 is a bright, youthful red made from 100% Tempranillo in a fresh, fruit forward style. It shows the classic appeal of young Rioja, with lively red fruit, soft texture and enough savoury detail to keep it balanced and expressive. This is an approachable, medium bodied Tempranillo with plenty of drink now appeal.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Fresh red berries, raspberry, strawberry and subtle spice.

Palate: Smooth and medium-bodied, with bright red fruit, juicy berry flavours and a gently earthy savoury edge.

Finish: Clean, supple and satisfying, with soft tannins and lingering red fruit freshness.

About the Winery / Producer / Region

Viña Ijalba is one of Rioja’s pioneering organic producers and has been farming organically since the 1970s. The estate was established on reclaimed gravel pits near Logroño and has built a strong reputation for modern Rioja wines made with an emphasis on sustainability and regional character.

Best enjoyed young while its fruit is bright and vibrant, though it should drink well over the short term under good conditions. This style is built more around freshness and immediate appeal than long term ageing.
