Château de Laubade 1984 Bas Armagnac is a vintage-dated, long-matured Armagnac from one of the region’s benchmark estates. Deeply evolved yet beautifully composed, it delivers autumnal richness, dried fruits, toffeeed notes, cocoa and gentle tobacco finishing long, savoury and quietly luxurious. 

Tasting Notes

• Aroma: Stewed fruit, toffee apple, dried apricot and tobacco.

• Palate: Rounded and rich-sultana, cocoa, spiced honey and mellow oak complexity.

• Finish: Persistent and gently tannic with a touch of rancio and dried peel.

Food Pairing / Serving Suggestions

Serve neat in a tulip glass at cool room temperature. A few minutes in the glass lets the layers open; a small splash of water can lift aromatics.

About the Producer / Region

Château de Laubade is a single estate Bas-Armagnac property built in 1870, owned by the Lesgourgues family for generations, with a reputation for estate control from vineyard to cask including distinctive Gascon oak maturation and a deep library of vintages resting in their cellars.

Cellaring Potential

Armagnac is wonderfully stable, store upright in a cool, dark place. Once opened, it will hold well for months (often longer) if re-sealed and kept away from heat and light.

Named “Spirit of the Year 2020” (La Revue du Vin de France) and described by the house as “the most awarded Armagnac” with extensive international accolades.
