About The Wine

Domaine Saint Damien Plan De Dieu Côtes du Rhône Vieilles Vignes 2024 is a rich, old vine Southern Rhône red with plenty of depth, warmth and regional character. Sourced from the Plan de Dieu lieu-dit in Violès, it brings together ripe dark fruit, savoury herb notes and a smooth, generous palate. The old vines and traditional élevage in concrete give the wine both concentration and freshness, making it a beautifully expressive Rhône blend with immediate appeal.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Black cherry, liquorice, dark raspberry, herbs and pepper.

Palate: Medium to full-bodied, with rich dark berry fruit, savoury spice and lovely natural freshness.

Finish: Long and velvety, with lingering dark fruit, pepper and wild herb notes.

Serving Suggestions

A great match for roast lamb, grilled sausages, slow cooked beef, rustic casseroles or hard aged cheeses.

About the Winery / Producer / Region

Domaine Saint Damien is a benchmark southern Rhône estate with the Saurel family’s vineyard history in the region dating back to 1821. The current domaine was established in 1979, with estate bottling resuming in the 1990s, and the wines have built a strong reputation for traditional southern Rhône character and exceptional value. Plan de Dieu sits in the southern Rhône near Gigondas and Violès, where warm conditions, old vines and stony soils suit generous, savoury reds beautifully.

Drinking beautifully now for its fruit and generosity, with enough structure to reward short to medium term cellaring under good conditions.
