BlackJack Block 6 Shiraz 2021 delivers a rich expression of Bendigo terroir - Ripe, structured, and deeply regional.
Grown on a single vineyard planted in 1998 in Harcourt's ancient Castlemaine sandstone-gravel soils, this Shiraz was fermented in open-top fermenters with hand plunging, then matured for 22 months in small French oak barriques.
On the nose, expect vibrant aromas of cola, mulberry, Asian spice, nutmeg oak, black pepper, bramble, and a hint of cool menthol. The palate is full-bodied and generous, revealing dark berry and plum flavours, layered with cinnamon and savoury spice. French oak and fine-grained grape tannins provide backbone, while lively acidity keeps the wine elegant and the finish long and refined.
Elegant enough to cellar, yet ready to enjoy now, this Shiraz pairs beautifully with grilled meats, mushroom ragù, smoked game, or aged cheddar.
