“Classic Bavarian wheat beer with banana, soft spice, fresh wheat and a smooth cloudy finish.”

Riegele Hefe Weisse is a proper Bavarian wheat beer, naturally cloudy, fruity and refreshingly easy to drink.

Soft banana, fresh wheat and gentle yeast spice lead the way, with light citrus and bready malt underneath. The palate is smooth and lively, with creamy carbonation and just enough bitterness to keep the beer balanced and fresh rather than sweet. Riegele describes it as a classic top fermented, unfiltered wheat beer, and that is exactly what you get in the glass.

This is a very traditional Bavarian Hefeweizen from one of Augsburg’s oldest breweries. It is fresh, fruity and approachable, with enough yeast and wheat character to feel authentic without becoming heavy.

Tasting Notes

Aroma: Banana, fresh wheat, gentle clove spice and soft citrus.

Palate: Smooth and medium bodied with creamy wheat, ripe banana, light bread and lively carbonation.

Finish: Fresh and softly fruity with gentle spice, yeast character and a clean balanced finish.

About The Brewery

Brauhaus Riegele is based in Augsburg, Bavaria, and traces its brewing history back to 1386. The brewery remains strongly focused on traditional German beer styles, with Hefe Weisse sitting firmly among its classic core range.

The Hefe Weisse is brewed with barley malt, wheat malt, hops and yeast, then left unfiltered and naturally cloudy. It is top fermented and built around fruitiness, freshness and that soft creamy texture that makes Bavarian wheat beer so appealing.

There is nothing complicated about this one. Banana, wheat, gentle spice and a big foamy head. Exactly what you want from a German Hefeweizen.
