About Pepperjack

Pepperjack was first released in 1998 with a Barossa Shiraz from the 1996 vintage. For its first five years, the wine was available exclusively through bars, clubs and restaurants, helping build its reputation as a bold Australian red made to be enjoyed with good food.

The range has since grown to include several varieties, although Shiraz remains at the heart of the Pepperjack story. The wines are predominantly grown and made in the Barossa, with an emphasis on generous fruit, regional character and approachable structure.

Pepperjack winemaker Richard Mattner was born and raised in the Barossa Valley and brings a strong understanding of the region to the range. The Pepperjack cellar door sits among vineyards at the entrance to Angaston, within a historic stone winery surrounded by established gardens.
